PreWedding/Bridal Photoshoot

I am so excited to finally be able to share our prewedding/bridal photoshoot with our awesome wedding photographer Junshien. I seriously *heart* his work. He never disappoints me.

We started off in this old barn looking thing in Merced, CA.

Then we headed over to highway 140 where all the almond trees were... yes, that is the way to Yosemite.

My flowers came from the florist at Raley's supermarket!

I bought that pinwheel at Dollar Tree on a whim.

My $10 Target veil and Forever 21 Flower Clip!

This is one of our favorite pictures!

Those are all the pictures we have for now. I asked him to pick out a few pictures for us to use for our invites. We made MOO cards with these pictures and had one side printed with our wedding website info with login and password.

Did anyone else take Pre-wedding or Bridal Pictures?

Rural Photoshoot Backdrops

We did a rural photoshoot a while back since I, well, live in the country. Here are some areas I've scouted for the photoshoot.

These are some sort of train frames off the freeway. Don't they look awesome?

Unfortunately, they moved the trains the day before our photoshoot. How very unlucky for me as they were sitting there for the past 4 months.

This looks like an abandoned barn of some sort. I pass it everyday on my way to work.

Here are some orchards. I think they are almond trees.

Huge empty fields.

Abandoned, sorta creepy looking house.

You can see glimpses of the photo shoot in our Save The Date video.

Has anyone else done a country photoshoot? Or seen a really cool one? I love seeing inspirations!

Photo-FUN!

Everyone knows about the fun of using Picnik and Poladroid. But have any of you heard of PhotoFunia? I have spent the past couple of hours looking for photos of Sundance and I, cropping them, and uploading them into PhotoFunia. It can quickly take up your time. All you do is upload a picture (must be less than 2MB) and voila, you get some awesome looking photos! Then, save it to your computer and use it for whatever you want. I am planning to use my pre-engagement, engagement, and bridal shoot pictures and then using these for wedding related things, such as a bridal newsletter that I will send out to everyone involved in the wedding.

Here are some photos I used that were from what I call my "pre-engagement" photoshoot from waaaay back in the days by our amazing photographer, Junshien.

Here are some non-pro pictures that I used. Here is the original photo from a recent wedding:

Here it is after I Picnik-ed it:

Here it is after using PhotoFunia:

Here's another original non-pro picture of us after my graduation:

Poladroid:

Here's the same picture in PhotoFunia:

And another PhotoFunia picture:

I think some of these would've made cool Save The Dates if you added things on in Photoshop, like your date (DUH).

What did you guys use your creative pictures for?

The Friendor - Our Awesome Photographer

Booking the Photographer
As soon as we picked our date, I called my wedding photographer up and told him that I was booking that date. Yes, the photographer was the first and only person I had told for a long time (well, besides my Mom). Why did I call him right away? Because I knew he was awesome and that he would book up quickly. He was actually someone I met through our personal blogs and somehow through the years, we became good friends. He took pictures of Sundance and I after we had been dating for 4 months. I think we were actually his first formal photoshoot that he did himself and he was trying to get his portfolio up and running. We dressed up in our formal attire and took what I call "pre-engagement" pictures, haha! It was raining that day and I directed them to the wrong picture place (Fact: I get lost EVERYWHERE, even with a GPS). I'm sure he couldn't get all the shots he wanted, but man, the shots he DID get turned out amazing! I'm pretty sure a ton of people have seen our pictures because he won some contest for
Jesh de Rox with one of them.

So without further ado, my awesome photographer and friend, Junshien. And here are those "pre-engagement" pictures he took of us in Dec 2006 when he was just entering the world of weddings. And he's gotten 500% better in these 2 years. We are so proud to call him our photographer and friend

Our famous picture - I call it "Laughing Through The Rain"

Too bad Sundance had Alfafa hair here.

For some reason, this picture is so appealing to look at.

Who was the first Vendor that you picked and why?
